DO You KNOW THAT YOU can become a missionary sisters of our lady of Africa?

                                                    Come and See!

 From the 02^nd to the 5^th August 2022, we met at CML,  the center belonging to the Missionaries of Africa in Kigali. We were 23 young ladies from five dioceses: Butare, Byumba, Nyundo, Kabgayi, and Ruhegeri.  For some of us it was their first time to leave their  homes to Kigali.  We were happy to be there.  Though we arrived at different times, each one was very happy for the warm welcoming and joy we received from the sisters, the nice meal, and beds prepared just for us. This made us not to feel the tiredness after the journey.   We thank the sisters who listened to our desires and gave us this time of session together though the three days were not enough. We were from senior four and senior five.

Each day we learnt new things. We understood better the meaning of vocation as a call from God to love, be with Him and serve Him. We were set aflame with the calling of St. Paul, (Acts 9:1-9), Mathew, Samuel and Mary (Luke 1; 28-38). From their vocation story, we discovered that each person is different and unique in answering God’s call. We realized that God who calls us, gives us also strength to overcome all obstacles and the courage to go on. Some of us were afraid that it will be difficult for us when we will start learning French, but after the witness of novice Saverine and sister Domina, we felt encouraged.

We saw that we are not the first ones to make this journey. It was also very interesting to see how enthusiastic and curious we were to listen carefully to the witness of our brother Egide of the Missionaries of Africa, who was newly ordained. He answered all our questions about the mission and charism and his own challenges in his vocation. May God bless him and all the sisters in their mission
