Collaboration in
Kinteko, with the children, young people, the teachers, and the management in
the schools.
"Groupe Scolaire de Kinteko" has a primary and secondary school which welcome children, and young people from different places. Itis in Huye province which is located in Gisagara district.
The youngsters in the schools are exposed to the
attractions of the city, which explains the number of school dropouts in rural
exodus to the city. They are exposed to alcohol, drugs, and sex. With most
people's economic capacity declining due to poverty, which is worsening in some
families because of the lack of sources of income, family conflicts are
becoming more and more entrenched, leading to family breakups. This situation
affects children and young people. Some young people are obliged to take on
responsibilities that belong to their parents. My mission in this school is to
Listen and advise; to help keep the children in the library, animate clubs, and
other youth movements.
Reaching out to such a
segment of society means sharing HOPE with fragile humanity.
It is my JOY to see
these little ones start, learn, or regain a taste for reading; to see these
young people who are thirsty for knowledge, curious, receptive to any
contribution from people of goodwill. I am encouraged when I see the staff and
teachers ready to collaborate in any way with any person recommended to them
for the good of the children and young people.
The animation consists in caring for the 6 clubs of 218 people in total and facilitating the access of all to the library. The challenges are to promote personal motivation and commitment and to keep the enthusiasm of the beginning alive.
